About
Barbara Bueno
I was born in São Paulo, Brazil—a vibrant city that shaped my passion for storytelling and exploration.
At 14, I spent a summer studying English at the University of Texas at El Paso, an experience that fueled my curiosity about the world.
Back in São Paulo, I pursued a degree in Journalism and started my career as a press officer in the luxury market.
In 2005, my life took an exciting turn when I moved to Italy to formally recognize my Italian citizenship. What began as a temporary adventure became a lifelong journey.
Florence became my home, the place where I met my husband and started a family with our two daughters, Gaia and Aurora.
Italy inspired me to share its beauty and culture. In 2007, I launched brasilnaitalia.net, now a trusted resource for Brazilians exploring Italy.
Over time, I developed additional projects tailored to different audiences: siciliamare.info, capturing the charm of Sicilian summers for Italian readers, and Tuscany.tips and Milan.tips, offering English-speaking travelers authentic Italian experiences.
My journey continues, fueled by a passion for discovering new cultures. I’ve recently started studying Japanese and dream of showing my daughters the diversity and richness of the world. Through my projects, I hope to connect people with Italy and the vibrant stories of cultures worldwide.
A Glimpse Into My World
Beyond the Work
My journey spans from crafting impactful content and managing communities to leading projects that inspire curiosity and growth. Beyond work, I’m passionate about lifelong learning, physical wellness, and preparing the next generation—my daughters—for a thoughtful and meaningful future.
What Shapes Me
Physical Exercise
Taking care of my body is an essential part of my life. I engage in physical activities at least five times a week, whether it's an outdoor run, functional strengthening exercises, or yoga sessions at home.
Reading
Reading is a key part of my routine, shaping my thoughts and perspectives. Here are some books that have significantly influenced me:
- The European Dream by Jeremy Rifkin
- Sapiens, Homo Deus, and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Harari
- The Moment of Lift by Melinda Gates
- Permanent Record by Edward Snowden
-Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight
- Wild Swans by Jung Chang
- The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek
-The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel
Family and Vision for the Future
As a mother, I strive to prepare my daughters for a thoughtful and purposeful future. I encourage them to reflect on the world through visits to museums, cultural events, and discussions about global issues. Supporting their passions, I accompany them to competitive tennis tournaments, a sport they deeply love. This balance of cultural exploration and athletic commitment is part of my approach to fostering curiosity, resilience, and a broader perspective in their lives.
